President – Stefan Mizera, Eng., MBA
Stefan has been in the automation industry since graduating from McGill University in Electrical Engineering in 1998. Completed his MBA with Heriot-Watt University (Edinburgh, Scotland) in 2025. Started his career with AlterSys, working on soft-PLC products (ISaGRAF), which was then acquired by ICS Triplex (Process Safety) in 2003, and eventually acquired by Rockwell Automation in 2007. Currently Senior Global Product Manager for High Availability I/O (1715 and 5015) and Process Safety (SISW, AADvance, Trusted). Member of the Order of Engineers of Quebec since 2005. Contributing member since 2023 of O-PAS (Open Process Automation Standard), part 6.5 (IEC 61499), as well as 6.4 (O-PAS Function Blocks) and 6.6 (IEC 61131). Member of ISA since 1998 and on the board of directors for ISA Montreal since 2024. Stefan also holds the Chair-elect position for the Eastern North America District in 2026. Stefan lives in Pointe-Claire with his wife Jessica and 2 daughters Emma and Emily. Interests include tennis/pickleball, travel, volunteering at his daughters’ school, and music (attending live shows and collecting records). |

Director and Past-President – Maxym Lachance, Eng.
Maxym Lachance is a Project Director at BBA and is actively engaged in the field of automation, both professionally and through his volunteer work with several committees. As a professional engineer, he has extensive experience in process control and alarm management, having led numerous projects in roles such as Task Lead, Project Manager, and Technical Expert. He contributes to all project phases—from design, plans and specifications, construction support, start‑up and commissioning, to optimization. His strong field and operations background guides his design approach and equipment selection to ensure reliable, sustainable, and high‑performing control solutions. For more than fifteen years, Maxym has also been strongly involved with the International Society of Automation (ISA). He has served in multiple leadership roles, including President of the ISA Montréal Section, Board Member for Automation Project Management, and completing a three‑year mandate on the ISA Executive Board. He remains an active member of the Montréal Section and contributes to several committees, including the ISA18.2 standard on Alarm Management. In addition to his publications and technical blogs, Maxym’s work in control engineering has been recognized by the Association des firmes d’ingénieurs‑conseils du Québec (AFG), which awarded him the Grand Prize in the Urban Infrastructure category and the Visionary Award in 2014. |

Program co-Chair – Steve Poirier, Eng.
Steve Poirier is an Automation Engineer specializing in industrial automation and control systems integration. He is currently an Automation Engineer at Gastier, where he works on the design and implementation of PLC, DCS, and SCADA solutions for industrial and infrastructure projects. He is involved throughout the full lifecycle of automation projects, including system architecture, control panel design, I/O definition, functional narratives, OT network design, and Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT). His experience spans both process and manufacturing environments, with a strong focus on structured engineering practices and system integration. Steve is a member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ) and actively pursues professional development in cybersecurity and project management. As Program Co-Chair for ISA Montréal, Steve assists in the organization and coordination of technical activities and events, supporting the delivery of relevant and high-quality programming for the automation community. |

Director – Marc-Etienne Bergeron, BBA Marc-Etienne is a highly driven cybersecurity professional with extensive experience in Industrial Control System (ICS) & Operational Technology (OT) cybersecurity across a wide range of industry sectors, including Manufacturing, Energy, Oil&Gas, Transportation, Water and Wastewater Management and Aviation. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) with a specialization in Information Systems Management from the University of Sherbrooke. Currently serving as OT Cybersecurity Consulting Team Lead at Jacobs Engineering Group Inc., Marc-Etienne has more than eight years of experience in operational and automation cybersecurity. Beyond his professional achievements, Marc‑Etienne is passionate about tennis, badminton, skiing, traveling, and music. He has also been an active member of the ISA Montréal board since 2021. |

Program co-Chair – Anglade Perrier ASC, C.Dir, NACD.DC
Anglade Perrier is a recognized leader in IT governance. He served as a Board Member of the ISACA Montreal Chapter from 2014 to 2022 and as President from 2020 to 2022. During this time, he advanced the profession and promoted best practices in Quebec’s ecosystem. As President and Founder of TEKAP Consulting Services, Anglade uses his expertise to help organizations protect critical assets and optimize IT operations. With over 10 years in senior roles at leading financial institutions, he has shown the ability to align cybersecurity risks with business strategies at the executive level, having served as a BISO and Senior Risk Advisor. According to ISACA, he is among the few professionals who hold all five core ISACA certifications—CISA, CISM, CRISC, CGEIT, and CDPSE—as well as CISSP and CCSP. This highlights his broad expertise in governance, risk, and compliance. Anglade demonstrates boardroom excellence, holding an MBA and two respected governance designations: ASC (Administrateur de Sociétés Certifié) and NACD Directorship Certification. He also serves on the boards of CCIM des Moulins (Chambre de commerce et d’industrie Les Moulins) and the Fondation du Cégep de Rosemont, reflecting his commitment to community leadership beyond the IT sector. |

Treasurer – Trung Nguyen, Eng.
Trung Nguyen is an electrical engineer with 42 years of experience in applied industrial projects. He has worked on projects in many industries such as the pharmaceutical, biotech, chemical, metallurgical, petrochemical, and pulp and paper industries. These projects have allowed him to gain substantial experience in programming and project life cycle implementation, from conceptual through commissioning/start-up, plant optimization, and maintenance. In addition, he constantly updates his technical abilities that complement his organizational skills, which are assets in his roles as project manager or technical lead. |
