Process engineers and I&C engineer are required to work very closely on projects to develop P&ID (based on ISA S5.1 standard). To re-enforce this collaboration, ISA Montreal is organizing a series of technical presentation / discussion that will discuss fundamentals of process engineering for automation engineers.
The 1st session planned for March 2022 will discuss fundamental of tank design (by Norman Peters) followed by best practice to determine tank high-high level (by Trung Nguyen). Future sessions will include piping, pump design and related issues.

Presenters:
Norman Peters: Norman is a McGill graduate in Chemical Engineering, with over 40 years of experience in the Pulp and Paper Industry, the Petrochemical Industry and various Chemical Process Industries.
Norman has participated in numerous plant design, construction and start-ups for new plants. He has trained plant operators in Canada and abroad. Presently, he is a course lecturer and Design Projects leader in the department of Chemical Engineering at McGill University, Montreal.
Trung Nguyen: Experienced process control engineer with extensive experience in control systems (DCS, PLC, HMI & SCADA), information systems and networking design & implementation.
Specialties: Specialize in Control System, Information System and Industrial Networking.
